Gov. Rick Scott on Monday will attend a funeral service Monday in Port Charlotte for Orange County Deputy Norman Lewis, who died in the line of duty last week.
Lewis was killed in a traffic accident as he responded to the fatal shooting of Orlando police Sgt. Debra Clayton.
Monday’s service is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. at Murdock Baptist Church in Port Charlotte, followed by burial at Charlotte Cemetery in Punta Gorda, according to an obituary posted online by Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery.
Lewis, a New York native, graduated from Port Charlotte High School before going to the University of Central Florida in Orlando, according to the obituary.
