Rubio Offers Prayers for Trump, Thanks Obama

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., lost a bruising Republican presidential primary to Donald Trump. But as Trump was sworn into office Friday, Rubio offered prayers for the new president.

“Today Jeanette & I pray for @realDonaldTrump May God protect you & your family & give you wisdom & strength to lead our nation. MR,” Rubio said in a Twitter post.

He also tweeted a message to outgoing Democratic President Barack Obama.

“We also thank @BarackObama @MichelleObama for your service to our country. May God bless you as you begin this new phase in your lives. MR,” Rubio’s tweet said.
