Buchanan Takes Lead on Animal Protection

U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla., will co-chair a bipartisan congressional group seeking humane treatment of animals and the preservation of wildlife.

Buchanan and U.S. Rep. Earl Blumenauer, D-Ore., will lead the Congressional Animal Protection Caucus, which as more than 120 members, Buchanan’s office said in a news release Monday.

“Stopping animal cruelty and protecting endangered wildlife should be a bipartisan issue important to all of us,” Buchanan said in a prepared statement. “I’m looking forward to working with Congressman Blumenauer and the caucus to help protect endangered species and animals at risk of being abused.”
